ALGIERS- Danish Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen underlined Tuesday in Algiers the strong cooperation between Algeria and Denmark, and expressed readiness of his country to assist Algeria in its efforts for the diversification of its economy.

"Today, we have discussed the strong cooperation between Algeria and Denmark in various areas," Jensen told the press following his discussions with Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra.

"Algeria seeks to diversify its economy and Denmark remains ready to help it," he said, highlighting his country expertise in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy.

In this regard, he said that Danish firms will be present in various fields in the coming years.

As regards the security situation in the Sahel region, Jensen added that Algeria and Denmark are working together on the matter, hailing Algeria's efforts and key role for the restoration of peace in Libya and the signing of the peace and reconciliation agreement in Mali.
